**Morning Prayer for a Day of Potential Conflict**

Good morning, Lord. I come to You at the start of this new day, already feeling the weight of a possible quarrel and my heart is overwhelmed by it. I acknowledge this tension and my anxious spirit as I step into the hours ahead.

Thank You for this fresh morning, for the quiet grace of a new beginning where nothing is yet set. Thank You for the mercy that Your compassions are new *right now*, meeting me in this overwhelmed place.

I hold onto Your promise today: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14, NIV). I claim this over the situation that threatens discord and over my restless heart.

I release to You my need to control the outcome, my fear of harsh words, and the heavy burden of this anxiety. I let go of my defensive spirit and my desire to be proven right. I surrender this entire matter into Your capable hands.

Father, grant me the peace that transcends this turmoil. Give me the wisdom to know when to speak and the greater courage to know when to listen or be silent. Fill me with a spirit of patience and humility that seeks understanding over victory.

Today, I commit to pausing and breathing a silent prayer for Your perspective before I respond in any tense moment. I will choose to see the other person through Your eyes of grace.

I go into this day under Your covering, trusting that You go before me. May my words be gentle and my heart remain soft, guided by Your Spirit. In the name of Jesus, who is our perfect peace, Amen.
