Let your body settle into a comfortable position... allowing the support beneath you to hold you fully... Begin by simply noticing your breath... the natural rhythm of air moving in... and out... no need to change anything... just awareness... Now, gently deepen the breath... a slow, steady inhale through the nose... and a longer, releasing exhale through the mouth... pausing in the stillness after the breath leaves... inhale slowly... exhale fully... and pause... Place a hand gently on your belly... feel it rise with your next inhale... and fall completely as you exhale... softening the abdomen... releasing any holding from the day... Let the breath move into your chest now... feel the ribs expand softly on the inhale... and soften inward on the exhale... a gentle opening and releasing in the heart space... Bring your attention to your shoulders and neck... areas that often carry the weight of a Monday's beginnings... on your next exhale, let that weight melt away... allow the shoulders to drop... the neck to lengthen... releasing the tension of planning and doing... Now, from the crown of your head... begin to soften downward... softening the forehead... the eyes... the jaw... letting go of the day's thoughts... softening through the throat and chest... the belly and hips... softening through the legs... all the way down to the soles of the feet... a wave of release... letting the entire body be heavy... and at ease... In this deep stillness... rest... you have completed this day. There is nothing to solve now. "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."... Gently begin to deepen your breath once more... feeling the quiet strength of your body at rest... when you are ready, slowly bring gentle movement back to your fingers and toes... and transition peacefully into your evening.
