Find a comfortable position, lying down or sitting back... Let your eyes gently close... Begin by noticing the natural rhythm of your breath... the simple in and out... No need to change it... just become aware of it... Now, gently invite the breath to deepen... A slow, smooth inhale through the nose... and a longer, releasing exhale through the mouth... Let go of the week with that out-breath... Inhale slowly... exhale fully... and pause... in the quiet space between breaths... Place a hand gently on your belly... Feel it rise with your next inhale... and fall as you exhale... Let your belly be soft... allowing the breath to fill you from below... Now let the breath expand into your chest... Feel your ribs widen... and then soften completely as you release the air... Releasing any tightness you carried here today... Bring your attention to your shoulders and neck... the places that often hold the weight of the week... On your next exhale, imagine that weight melting away... letting your shoulders drop away from your ears... softening... releasing... Allow this wave of softening to travel slowly down your body... through your arms and hands... your back... your hips and legs... all the way to your feet... Every muscle letting go... as if sinking into warm, supportive sand... Rest here in this deep stillness... Your body heavy and relaxed... your mind quiet... You have completed the week. As it is written, *"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."* Let that rest find you now... Gently begin to deepen your breath once more... Wiggling your fingers and toes... When you are ready, slowly open your eyes... Carry this peace with you into your evening and your rest.
