Find a comfortable position, lying down or sitting back... Let your eyes gently close... Notice the natural rhythm of your breath... just as it is... in... and out... There’s nothing to change right now... simply noticing... Now, begin to gently deepen it... a slow, soft inhale through your nose... and a longer, releasing exhale through your mouth... Let the exhale be a sigh of relief... Inhale slowly... exhale longer... and pause in the stillness after the release... Good. Place a hand gently on your belly... Feel it rise with your next gentle inhale... and fall as you exhale... Let your breath soften and support you... like a gentle wave on a midweek shore... Now, let the breath expand into your chest... Feel your ribs widen softly with the inhale... and soften completely with the exhale... Releasing any tightness you carried here today... Bring your awareness to your shoulders and neck... areas that often hold the weight of the week’s tasks... On your next exhale, imagine that weight melting away... like the last of the Wednesday sun sinking below the horizon... letting the muscles soften and drop... Allow this softening to travel slowly down your body... through your arms and hands... your back and spine... your hips and legs... all the way to your feet... With every exhale, a deeper layer of the day lets go... You have done enough for today. Rest in this feeling of release... In the quiet, remember the promise: *“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”*... Let that rest fill you now... Your body is heavy... your mind is quiet... resting deeply... When you are ready, you may gently begin to transition into a peaceful sleep...
