We bow before the Cross, the holy wood upon which hung the Savior of the world. We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, for by Your holy Cross You have redeemed the world. My heart is heavy with sorrow, Lord. I see the depth of Your love, and I see the weight of my sin that made this sacrifice necessary. Forgive me. Grant me the grace, in my own small sufferings this day, to join them to Yours. Let my fast, my silence, be a thread woven into the fabric of Your redeeming pain. For the whole world You died. I lift to Your wounded side every broken heart, every conflict, every cry of injustice. Have mercy on us all. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Yet, “He has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” Into Your hands, we commend our spirits this solemn day. in Jesus Name Amen
