God, I'm drowning. A tidal wave of anxiety is crashing over me, pulling me under with fears of what might happen, a racing heart, and a mind that won't be still. I name these waves before You: the fear of failure, the dread of the unknown, this tightness in my chest. I can't fight this current on my own. I'm exhausted from trying to stay afloat by my own strength. I release this struggle to You. You are my rock and my refuge, a fortress that no flood can overcome. You are the one who commands the wind and the waves to "Peace, be still." I cling to You now. Please, still the storm inside me. Calm the raging thoughts. Restore my breath. Wrap me in the peace that comes only from You, the peace of being rescued and held safe. "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." (Psalm 18:2). Hold me on this rock that is higher than the waves.
