Notice the thought, 'I am having the thought that I am overwhelmed,' rather than believing 'I am overwhelmed.' This creates a little space. In that space, remember the promise that God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and your mind. You don't need to solve everything right now. Just choose one small, simple action—make a cup of tea, step outside for a breath of air. Redirect your energy there, and let your mind find rest in the doing.
